Thanks to everyone who commented on our 2010 headline music announcement. We love to hear about what Festival fans want to see, and wish that we had three month’s worth of stage time (and budget!) to bring every one of the bands you mentioned to Pittsburgh. We definitely pay attention to what you say as we’re looking at possible music acts for next year – so thank you again for sharing your thoughts with us.
Generally once we announce our headliners, we fill any remaining slots with regional or local music. To that end, the TBA headline slots have been filled as follows:
Monday, June 7: One World Tribe
Reggae fans will enjoy Erie-based world music group One World Tribe, a band that WDVE’s Randy Baumann called “the real deal.” In addition to covering music by Bob Marley, Santana, Stevie Wonder and others, One World Tribe plays its own unique blend of hip-hop, reggae, African and world beats.
Saturday, June 12: Local Indie Music Showcase
We’re hosting our first-ever weekend Local Indie Music Showcase starting at 5:30, with David Bernabo + Assembly, Boca Chica, Harlan Twins and Lohio taking the stage over the course of the evening. Come down to see just a few of the great things that are happening in the music scene right here in Pittsburgh.
We’re also still at work on local openers for some of the headline shows, lunchtime concerts on the Dollar Bank Stage at Point State Park, and additional music programming in the Cultural District. We hope to announce all of that next week, so stay tuned.
