Bike Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh’s leading bicycle advocacy and education organization, will be providing information on safe biking to Three Rivers Arts Festival, advising on bike parking, and offering bike valet at Point State Park on World Environment Day.
Port Authority of Allegheny County has a long-standing relationship with the Festival, annually encouraging Festival patrons to “Be Art Smart” by taking the bus or T to the Festival. Every full bus represents 50 cars off the road, along with a complementary reduction
Green Gears Pedicabs will provide emission-free transportation for Festival waste throughout Point State Park. They will also be offering free rides between Festival venues at no charge during the Opening Night Party and will be for hire during the remainder of the Festival.
Pennsylvania Resources Council, one of Pennsylvania’s oldest citizen action environmental organizations, manages the Festival’s Zero-Waste Initiative.
Festival compost is processed by AgRecycle, a Washington, PA-based industrial composting facility.
FarmCorps will distribute processed compost to farmers in Allegheny County.
G-Tech is collected used cooking oil from Festival food court vendors for use as biodiesel.
